Dental Implants are made from pure titanium metal.  They are cylindrical in shape and act like the root portion of the missing tooth when anchored into the bone.  After the bone heals around the implant, a “post” is fabricated to which a crown is attached, resulting in a crowned tooth that looks and functions like a natural tooth.  Single or multiple implants can be placed.  Implants are generally placed after bone is mature (approximately age 21).  Implants can also be used to secure a removable partial or complete denture.
